The Orange County events can help keep your organization EPA compliant because there are regulations for the storage of hazardous waste, the length of storage, and how much can be stored.

Hazardous waste can be defined as any item that can be harmful to the environment and your health. It can be characterized by if it can easily catch on fire, if it’s corrosive, reactive, or toxic. The disposal process of this includes transforming a hazardous waste product into a safe waste product by isolation, treatment, or recycling. This is a way to protect the environment.

As a reminder, County Waste and Recycling is not authorized to haul hazardous waste. Please do not place hazardous wastes in any County Waste and Recycling container or take to their transfer stations.
